Bulky waste collections

Homes for Islington
Project:
Homes for Islington manages Islington Council's 21,500 homes and 8,000 leasehold properties. HFI commissioned LRS Consultancy to assess how bulky waste across the borough could be managed more effectively.
Solution:
LRS conducted a review of how bulky waste was being managed across the Borough. This included assessing the capabilities of other local organisations to assist with storage, reuse and recycling of materials. LRS designed and facilitated a workshop with key stakeholders and identified areas that HFI needed to work on to improve the management of bulky waste from estates.
Outcome:
LRS worked with the London Borough of Islington and LCRN to assist in the planning and implementation of a bulky waste reuse and recycling scheme. The scheme involved three charities working in separate areas of the Borough to collect bulky waste and white goods from residents.
